Strengthening Community Connections – Lady Forester Garden Fete |
||
Undeterred by the downpours, yesterday’s garden fete at Lady Forester Residential Home was a huge success. Despite the drizzle, spirits weren’t dampened as the fete featured plant sale, homemade cakes, garden games, and live entertainment. I managed to converse with a wonderful range of people, including Lord Forester, Dr Benga, the Town Mayor, Councillor Roy Childs and the Deputy Lord Lieutenant as well as many residents, volunteers and those supporting the local event. I also met the star of the fete. Jeffery the alpaca! This fluffy VIP from Frankly Farm Tours, trotted round with charm and had an amazing flair for selfies and snuggles. Residents and visitors alike couldn’t get enough of his confident character and irresistible eyelashes. I also had the opportunity to reconnect with our local first responder Phil. I believe our community involvement highlights the vital role that the local emergency services play, not just in times of need, but in everyday moments that build trust and familiarity. Huge thanks to all staff and volunteers for making this event such a success and their resilience with the weather. | ||
